About the Seville Feria
The April Seville Feria is one of the most emblematic festivals in Spain and one of the most famous and multitudinous in the world. It is celebrated during the weeks after Easter, usually in April, although occasionally it could take place in May due to the liturgical calendar.

The Seville Feria has its origins in a livestock market dating back to the nineteenth century, but over time it has evolved into a celebration that combines tradition, folklore, gastronomy and fun.
The main event of the Seville Feria takes place in an extensive enclosure known as the Real de la Feria, which is set up specifically for this purpose in the neighborhood of Los Remedios. This space is filled with brightly decorated booths, where various activities are held and typical food and drink of the region are offered.

During the Seville Feria, women usually wear flamenco costumes, while men wear traje de corto or jackets. Horses also play an important role in the Seville Feria, as parades and equestrian exhibitions are organized.

Music and dance are essential components of the Seville Feria. Flamenco is the predominant musical genre, and Spanish guitars and hand clapping can be heard throughout the fairgrounds. Sevillanas, a type of folkloric dance, are the protagonists of the nights, where people gather to dance and enjoy the company of friends and family.

Gastronomy is another highlight of the April Seville Feria. Among the most popular dishes are Andalusian tapas, pescaíto frito (fried fish), Iberian ham and Spanish omelettes. The typical drink of the fair is fino, a dry white wine, although other beverages such as beer and rebujito, a mixture of fino and lemon soda, can also be found.
